Without a doubt one of the most valuable tools when it comes to sheet metal fabrication is the Cleco fastener. I've used Clecos on a number of projects now, and they have allowed me to make sure my panels line up perfectly when drilling the mounting holes.
Basically, Clecos act as a clamp. When you get your whatever panel it is you are working on aligned exactly where you want it, and start drill your holes for the rivets, it is easy for the panel to move, thereby causing your holes to no longer align, and causing your panel to not fit correctly. With Clecos, when you drill a hole, you insert the appropriate sized Cleco into the hole, and it clamps the two panels together, keeping the panel in place and your holes aligned. It's that simple!
